In a mesmerizing display of musical excellence, renowned Indian classical maestros Pt. Ritesh Mishra and Pt. Rajnish Mishra visited St. Xavier's International School, Zirakpur, leaving students of classes 5-9 spellbound with their captivating performance and interactive classical singing class.
The duo's visit was part of the school's cultural enrichment program, aimed at introducing students to the rich heritage of Indian classical music. Pt. Ritesh Mishra and Pt. Rajnish Mishra showcased their mastery over traditional instruments, enthralling the young audience with soulful renditions of ragas and intricate compositions. The Maestro Duo has perfected this art, having performed for over three decades under the guidance of the Living Legends, the 'Sun and Moon' of the Banaras Gharana, Padma Bhushan Pt. Rajan Misra and Pt. Sajan Misra. Enlivening the 6th generation of their family of great musicians with a lineage of 400 years, the artist brothers are gifted with pleasing voices and sensibility for musical notes. Skilled with rich knowledge of Indian Ragas, the duo has performed at prestigious concerts worldwide, including BBC Proms at Albert Hall, London, Lincoln Centre, NY, USA, and the closing ceremony of Commonwealth Games, 2002, in Manchester, UK.
They have sung the 3rd track 'Mahadeva' in the album 'Rise', nominated for the prestigious 'Grammy Awards'. As 'Top' Grade vocalists of All India Radio and Television, they have received several awards, including the 'YUVA Ratna Award' (1999), 'Bhavishya Jyoti Award' (2007), 'Sangeet Natak Academy Award' (2008), and 'Sangeet Samriddhi Award'.
