"Raising Awareness Against Child Marriage"

A special awareness workshop was organized at St. Xavier’s High School,Panchkula to highlight the serious issue of child marriage and its harmful impact on society. The program aimed to educate students about the legal, social, and health consequences of marrying children at an early age.Child marriage remains a major concern in many parts of the country, depriving young boys and girls—especially girls—of their basic rights to education, health, and a safe childhood. Early marriage often leads toschool dropouts, poor health, and limited opportunities for personal growth and development.

During this workshop the school counsellor emphasized that child marriage is a punishable offense under the law and urged students to take responsibility in preventing such practices. The workshop also highlighted the importance of education as a powerful tool to eliminate child marriage.

The school Principal Mr. George S. Shear encouraged the students to stand against child marriage and work towards building a safe and progressive society.
